So when Sophie and Rob got in touch about their intimate ceremony at the end of February, I was super excited. Sophie and Rob had chosen the Town Hall’s Regency Room for their micro wedding followed by a small, chilled reception at the Shepherd and Dog in Fulking. It was relaxed day with just family to witness them tie the knot and celebrate their love after 6 years together.
Sophie and Rob got in touch with me in January while they were still away in Nepal and trying to juggle wedding planning from there whilst on holiday! I could tell from the get go that they were a super mellow couple and just wanted to enjoy their day together with close family. They decided to get ready together in their new house in Brighton (they moved here a few months ago from London) and wanted to walk down the aisle together. I love all of this! Sophie said she wanted them to be seen as equals and having their first look at home together also seemed to calm both of their nerves before they jumped in a taxi together, headed to the Town Hall.
After walking down the aisle together, hand in hand, Sophie and Rob had a lovely intimate ceremony, said their vows and had their first kiss as husband and wife. Both of their sister’s did readings during the ceremony and there were smiles from everyone in the room throughout the ceremony! Afterwards, we popped outside the Regency Room doors and showered Sophie and Rob with bags of confetti! We then did some group shots in front of the Town Hall, before the family jumped into taxis and made their way over to the Shepherd and Dog were the wedding reception would be held. At this point, Sophie and Rob fancied their first pints as newlyweds, so we walked over to the Cricketers Inn (a true Brightonian pub!).
Personally, I loved this idea of grabbing a pint together as newlyweds! We got some adorable photos in the pub and had a nice chilled time to chat and celebrate them tying the knot (with me as their professional third wheel!!). After the pub, we wandered around the Lanes and then along to the seafront and Brighton Pier. We had plenty of time to just relax and enjoy a walk around and try lots of different locations for photos. Passers-by stopped and said congratulations and people driving past shouted their well wishes through open car windows. The sun was setting on the beautiful and bright February afternoon as we jumped in an Uber to head over to the reception, driving across The Downs as dusk fell.
When we arrived at the Shepherd and Dog, Sophie’s sister had hung up lots of bunting and flowers and they were welcomed into the room as their families raised their glasses of bubbly. Everyone nibbled on canapés before Sophie and Rob cut their cake together, then I said my goodbyes everyone sat down to eat.
It was a truly beautiful, chilled out day for a gorgeous couple.
