Glastonbury Festival Handfasting: Jodie & Ryan

Oct 18, 2024

When you picture Glastonbury, you might picture mud and rain, but Jodie and Ryan’s sun-drenched wedding day turned that notion upside down! Their stunning wedding unfolded in the Healing Fields, where they embraced the festival spirit with a unique and intimate hand-tying ceremony that perfectly captured their quirky, laid-back style.

Two Weddings, One Very Cool Love Story

Jodie and Ryan kicked off their wedding celebrations with an intimate official ceremony the day before the festival at Glastonbury Town Hall. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, the vibe was relaxed and full of love. As Jodie walked down the aisle to “Fade Into You” by Mazzy Star there were happy tears all round! After the ceremony, we had a walk around the gorgeous Glastonbury town centre for some photos of these gorgeous newlyweds before I left them to rejoin their friends and family for drinks and dinner. It really was the perfect setting for the start of a completely unforgettable celebration!

A Sunny Ceremony in the Healing Fields

The next day, Jodie and Ryan made their way to Glastonbury Festival, ready to say “I do” in the serene Healing Fields. This tranquil area, typically a peaceful retreat amidst the festival chaos, was adorned with colourful flags and had an infectious vibe that only Glastonbury can provide.

The couple’s hand fasting ceremony was led by the amazing Glenda who had Jodie and Ryan in fits of giggles! The atmosphere was so full of joy, as their friends watched in the sunshine and passersby stopped by the watch and cheer. It was such a gorgeous moment and all polished off with a glass of bubbly after the ceremony in the Healing Fields.

Festival Fashion with a Boho Twist

Jodie looked stunning in a flowing vintage dress and a flower crown, perfectly embodying the boho vibes of Glastonbury festival! Ryan complemented her look effortlessly with a vintage lightweight linen shirt, sleeves rolled up, ready for a day of fun.

Glastonbury was the perfect colourful backdrop for the ceremony, full of glitter, sequins and all that amazing festival fashion!

A Stroll to the Glastonbury Sign

After the ceremony, me, Jodie and Ryan wandered towards the Glastonbury sign, stopping off for some amazing photos in all the fun spots Glastonbury Festival has – it really is a photographer’s dream!

The sun shone over these newlyweds and it truly felt like an experience that was uniquely theirs.

Frozen Margaritas and Festival Fun

After our mooch up to the Glastonbury sign, we all decided we’d earned a cold drink in the festival heat! So we grabbed some frozen margaritas, toasting to their love and the start of all the festival fun.

After the toast, I left Jodie and Ryan to enjoy the rest of the festival together, knowing it was definitely going to be a festival to remember! I left them to dive straight into the music and the pure joy of being newlyweds at Glastonbury Festival.

Why Glastonbury Weddings Are Special

Jodie and Ryan’s wedding exemplified how to create a celebration that truly reflects who you are. Their intimate ceremony in the Town Hall, followed by the laid-back celebration at Glastonbury Festival, showcased their love for music, spontaneity, and the joy of festivals.

More proof that weddings don’t have to fit into a traditional mold; they can be as unique and personal as you yourselves.

Love & Festivals

Jodie and Ryan’s Glastonbury wedding is a beautiful reminder that the most memorable celebrations are those that feel authentically you. Whether it’s a formal ceremony one day and a festival the next or an entirely different adventure, what matters most is creating a day filled with love, laughter, and amazing memories.
