One Garden Wedding Guide

Mar 26, 2024

One Garden is a stunning walled garden, just 20 minutes from Brighton City Centre. Think English garden vibes and a big lawn for games and mingling with your guests. It is located in the Stamner Park estate and the gardens have been designed and modernised by landscape architect, Dominic Cole who worked on the Eden Project. It’s a beautiful, tranquil space just outside of the bustling centre of Brighton!

Wedding Ceremonies at One Garden

While you can’t get legally married at One Garden, it’s the perfect place to have a celebrant-led ceremony and a fun, outdoors reception. There is plenty of space for your guests to explore and celebrate surrounded by stunning foliage and flowers. Of course, this also makes the perfect backdrop for your photos!

Receptions at One Garden

The event lawn can be set up with lawn games and a marquee. In this sense, it’s a bit of a blank canvas and you can really set it up however you like! There is plenty of space for you and your guests to explore with cute, flower lined paths and gardens to sip bubbly in.

Catering

At One Garden, you also have lots of flexibility in terms of food. Inhouse catering can be arranged to provide delicious, locally sourced food for you and your guests to feast on. Alternatively, you can organise your own caterers for the day.

Transport and Accommodation

One Garden Brighton is located just off of the A27 between Brighton and Lewes and you can follow signage from the main road. You will enter Stanmer Park and be directed through the estate to the main car park. Parking is operated by Brighton & Hove City Council and fees apply. Please note that the ticket machines do not accept cash and there is no card machine. You must therefore pay via the PayByPhone website.

If you are coming from Brighton, it’s about a 20 minute drive and you can book taxis and Ubers to drop you off to avoid paying the parking fee!

Alternatively, One Garden can be reached by public transport. The 78 bus from Brighton will drop you off at Stanmer Village, which is approximately a 2 minute walk to One Garden. The 25 bus to Universities drops passengers off at the bottom of Stanmer Park, which is approximately a 15 minute walk to One Garden Brighton. The closest train station is Falmer and is a 30 minute walk (so you might want to book a taxi from the station to drop you off!).

As for accommodation, there is no onsite options at One Garden, but plenty of Airbnb options around Falmer and one, large family house within Stanmer Estate. And of course you have lots of accommodation options in Brighton.

I love shooting weddings at One Garden and I think this venue is one to watch!

It has so many great features and such a gorgeous vibe. While still being super close to Brighton, making it easy for your guests to get to, it feels as though you are in the middle of the English countryside. So if you fancy something a bit different, One Garden could be the place for you!
